Project Description
Hurdles
I started with the 100mh at ATR. Before this, I sporadically trained for it because it was in the heptathlon. This was always more of a must rather than enjoying it. I still found the part too complicated at the time. As a result, I preferred doing the sprint parts. At ATR, I first did the 300mh and tried the 400mh a few times. That went very well and resulted in me becoming Dutch champion in this event. Through the 400mh, I also started to like the 100mh more and more and that paid off. After the EYOF in 2017, I opted for the 100mh instead of the 400mh and in 2019 I made the decision to stop doing heptathlon and focus fully on the hurdle and sprint components. This ended up being a good choice. The 100mh is a complex but very beautiful part of the sport. It is precisely that complexity and the details that count that I like about it.
