I started athletics at the age of five at ARV ILION. Here I always enjoyed training and learning the different athletics components. I combined this with hockey until I was 15 years old. When I stopped playing hockey, I started training at ATR (Athletics Training Centre Rotterdam) under the direction of Brendan Troost.
At ATR I was introduced to hurdling and won my first international tournaments and medals. After the Tokyo Games, I made the choice to go to Papendal. Here I trained under Bart Bennema in season ’21-22 and under Laurent Meuwly and Brendan Troost since ’22-23.
Besides athletics, I study Movement Sciences at VU University Amsterdam.
I hope to finish my bachelor as soon as possible to focus solely on my athletics career.
